Takayama in the Rain



One of the best festivals in Japan, the monks parade a dozen floats through the quaint town as some sort of welcome to spring. Some of the floats are mechanical. This is what it should look like

It doesn't go ahead if it's raining. In true Scottish style, this was the only day that it rained. The one day that was weather dependant. And it didn't stop until about 10pm.  
Not all bad though, I bought a beautiful vintage kimono from a wee market that was there.
